Because the Kings are flying with Sabonis with three consecutive victories and a record of 10-2 since the firing of Mike Brown. Last night they beat Curry's Warriors by 117 to 123 with his 39th double-double of the regular season, the absolute leader in the NBA.

Now in nearly the same boat as the Miami Heat, the Sacramento Kings are exploring trades for their face of the franchise, with a specific package in mind.

The Spurs are in prime position to make major waves at the NBA Trade Deadline, potentially acquiring one of the biggest stars in the game.

The Kings would not only be flush with assets for the future, but would, at least, have a puncher's chance at acquiring one of the most valuable assets in the league right now: the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. That pick would give them the opportunity to select Cooper Flagg, one of the best NBA Draft prospects we've seen in recent memory.
