The Toronto Blue Jays have made some key moves, trading for Andres Gimenez and signing both Jeff Hoffman and Anthony Santander.However, their starting rotation remains a problem. They need a frontline starter in order to bounce back into contention following their last place finish in 2024.

The Toronto Blue Jays announced this morning that they have traded for centre fielder Myles Straw from the Cleveland Guardians.

In December, the Blue Jays acquired Platinum Glove second baseman Andrés Giménez from the Cleveland Guardians, along with relief pitcher Nick Sandlin, for infielder Spencer Horwitz (who was later flipped to the Pittsburgh Pirates) and minor-leaguer Nick Mitchell.

Anthony Santander, who signed a five-year deal with the Toronto Blue Jays this offseason, is predicted to have a very big year in 2025.
