RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - A brush fire has broken out in the south Reno area that is forcing evacuations. The Callahan Fire is burning in the area of Callahan Ranch and residents are being asked to evacuate to the South Valleys Library. The fire appears to have broken out around 10:50 a.m. Monday.

A wildfire has prompted evacuations in the Callahan Ranch area in south Reno. South Valleys Library has been established as the evacuation center.

Evacuations are underway for residents in the following areas: The county is asking residents to leave immediately and an evacuation center has been set up at the South Valleys Library. All large animals can be taken to the Reno Sparks Livestock Events Center.

New evacuations zones have been added. Those are posted below: Update at 11:46 a.m.: The Atlantis says it is offering evacuees a discounted rate of $59 Monday night with resort fees waived. Guests must provide proof of residence in the evacuation zone.
