A former Texas Longhorns running back is heading up north to continue his collegiate career. Texas transfer running back Reid Watkins announced on social media that he has committed to South Dakota University for the 2025 season.

Ohio State wanted to move its game against Texas to Sunday primetime, but the Longhorns "exercised their contractual right" to stop the move.

The Texas Longhorns will look toward their offensive line depth and recruiting to build the line for the 2025 season.

Before Lacey committed to Texas, he had offers from some of the top programs in the country. That includes Miami, Alabama, Auburn, Oregon, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Louisville and Colorado. While he was a human highlight reel, he also added to his trophy case by winning Alabama Mr. Football during the 2024 season.

Sean Miller and Xavier eliminated the Texas basketball team from the NCAA Tournament this past season, and now, Miller is the head coach of the Longhorns. Texas decided to fire former head coach Rodney Terry after the First Four defeat against the Musketeers, and the school was able to get Miller to leave the Big East to come to the SEC.
