Major incident in Somerset after Storm Herminia hits UK
Storm Herminia has brought wind and heavy rain to much of Wales and southern England, with a major incident being declared in Somerset. More than 100 people have been evacuated in the south-western county following flooding in the early hours of Monday, as well as power cuts across the region.

It comes after Storm Éowyn caused disruption on Friday and Saturday, including multiple power cuts and gusts of up to 93mph (159km/h). The Met Office said: "Periods of heavy rain could eventually lead to some flooding of roads and properties.

A further yellow wind warning stretching from the south coast up to north east England is in place from 10pm on Sunday until 7am on Monday, while a rain warning covering southern and central England and Wales is in place until 6am on Monday. Another rain warning over most of Wales will remain in place until 11:59pm on Monday.

A series of flood warnings and alerts have been issued across the West Midlands as Storm Herminia hits parts of the UK. River levels in Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and Warwickshire are expected to rise due to heavy wind and rain overnight.
