Pakistan's claims of successfully organising international cricket in the country suffered a big jolt on Tuesday as the Sri Lanka A team decided not to play the remaining two 50-over matches against Pakistan A due to political unrest in the country's federal capital region.

This blow to Pakistan has come just months before the highly-anticipated ICC Champions Trophy 2025 that is scheduled to be held in the country.

The Pakistan Cricket Board, in consultation with Sri Lanka Cricket, has postponed the last two 50-over matches of the Pakistan Shaheens-Sri Lanka ‘A’ series due to a political activity in the federal capital.

Pakistan Shaheens were set to face Sri Lanka A in three one-dayers at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. However, due to the political protests in Islamabad, the last two matches have been postponed indefinitely.
