Hughes Fire initially started 10:53 a.m. Jan. 22 in Los Angeles County. It has burned 10,425 acres after being active for eight days. The fire crew managed to contain the fire entirely as of Thursday afternoon. The cause is, however, still being investigated.

As the investigation into the devastating Palisades Fire continues, early indications show the blaze was probably not natural in origin. Two leading theories have emerged, the Los Angeles Times reports.
