Kenny Omega‘s in-ring return has been confirmed for NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty. Former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega has not wrestled since December 2023, as he has been sidelined with diverticulitis.

Since an appearance at New Japan’s Power Struggle show earlier this month, Omega’s been building to a match with NJPW Strong champion Gabe Kidd. They brawled backstage, and have been exchanging words ever since.

After almost a year on the shelf, Kenny Omega is set to make his professional wrestling return in a match against Gabe Kidd at AEW x NJPW's Wrestle Dynasty at the Tokyo Dome in Japan.

NJPW announced on Friday that Omega will face Gabe Kidd at Wrestle Dynasty, which takes place January 5 at the Tokyo Dome. This follows a promo by Omega in the last week saying he was ready to wrestle Kidd at Wrestle Dynasty. NJPW made the match official after Kidd accepted Omega’s challenge.
