PHIVOLCS said on December 11, 2024 that it is yet too early to raise to 4 the alert level at Kanlaon Volcano but it is doing “worst case scenario planning.”

Kanlaon Volcano erupted Monday afternoon, December 9 prompting authorities to raise its status to Alert Level 3, indicating heightened volcanic unrest.

State seismologists said they would likely raise the alert status of the Kanlaon Volcano in Negros Islands to Level 4 although it has stopped erupting.
