According to the NHL’s collective bargaining agreement, if both the Bruins and Swayman are unable to come to terms on a deal prior to Dec. 1, Swayman will be ineligible to play for the remainder of the season and the playoffs.

Jeremy Swayman will not be taking the ice for the Boston Bruins until he and the team agrees to a new contract.

Boston Bruins general manager Don Sweeney, who said entering the offseason that signing No. 1 goalie Jeremy Swayman to a new contract was his top priority, confirmed the restricted free agent won’t be on the ice Thursday when the team returns for training camp.
