A man in Southern California passed away on Thursday when hanging up Christmas lights on his house in Escondido, according to authorities in San Diego

Antonio Pascual was hanging Christmas lights when he threw them over a high voltage powerline and was electrocuted, the medical examiner said.

The man was suspended mid-air when first responders arrived, who had to wait for power to be shut off to rescue him.
