Two people were killed and two police officers were injured in a shooting Monday evening at a supermarket in northern Indiana, police said.

There was no immediate word on what prompted the gunfire, but investigators said there was no threat to the public.

Police say that when officers “engaged” the suspect outside the store, two officers were wounded and the suspect was fatally shot.
