Meijer Inc. announced a recall of thousands of cases of Frederik's Dark Chocolate Almonds on June 13 due to the possible presence of undeclared cashews.

A temporary breakdown in the supplier's manufacturing process caused the problem to occur, and as the FDA alert makes clear, "people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product with the lot codes shown below."

Mellace Family Brands California, Inc. initiated the recall for its Wegmans Semi-Sweet Chocolate Nonpareils because it contained milk even though that ingredient was not mentioned on the packaging, according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
