Mossad and authorities in the Gulf country had opened an investigation into Kogan's disappearance believing it may be related to “a terrorist incident.”

Israeli and Emirati authorities have confirmed the murder of Rabbi Zvi Kogan, a Chabad emissary based in Abu Dhabi, whose body was discovered early Sunday. Kogan, a dual Israeli-Moldovan citizen, went missing on Thursday under circumstances Israeli officials have described as a terror attack motivated by antisemitism.

Chabad emissary Rabbi Zvi Kogan is suspected to have been kidnapped and murdered in the United Arab Emirates by Islamic terrorists who have escaped to Turkey, Hebrew outlet Ynet reported on Saturday.

Jews have understood over the last few years that when it comes to the West’s enforcement of “hate crimes,” Jews are usually the one group that doesn’t get protection.

Emirati authorities have found the body of Rabbi Zvi Kogan, the Prime Minister’s Office and Foreign Ministry say in a joint statement. Kogan, a Chabad rabbi in the UAE, had been missing since Thursday.

Zvi Kogan is one of five Chabad rabbis to move to the UAE since Israel normalized relations in 2020. Israeli authorities announced early Sunday that the body of a rabbi who disappeared Thursday in the United Arab Emirates had been found.
