Star Wars' iconic villain Darth Maul is returning to the screen with a new animated series at Disney+ - Maul: The Shadow Lord is set to debut in 2026.

Since his introduction, Darth Maul has kind of become the unsung villain of Star Wars. He doesn’t have the same gravitas as Vader or Palpatine, but he has appeared in multiple Star Wars projects, including his debut in The Phantom Menace,

Maul has murdered Jedi, survived bifurcation, and terrified countless viewers, but Lucasfilm isn't done with him yet. At this year's Star Wars Day, the studio announced that the character would be resurrected for a new animated series.
