COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Beginning May 15, the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles will begin accepting documents that make state drivers' licenses and ID cards compliant with federal standards.
SC cards by mail Residents will still apply for licenses or ID cards in person at SC DMV branches this fall. They'll also still need to present required documentation and complete applicable testing.
But he said the county is almost out of the paper stock used to print the cards and decals. He said his office orders 12,000 forms from the DMV each month and did not receive any last week.
The South Carolina DMV, according to the law, did provide eligible applicants with the information and forms they needed to register to vote.
