Patrick Kane returns to the Detroit Red Wings for another year. The 36-year-old signed a one-year contract with Detroit for an average annual value of $3 million on Monday.

During the 2024-25 season, on a mostly struggling Red Wings team, Kane had 21 goals and 38 assists for 59 points in 72 games. That's excellent production for a 36-year-old.

Kane led the team in points per game (1.05) after Todd McLellan took over as coach on Dec. 26 (16 goals, 45 points in 43 games), thriving in a more aggressive offensive system.
