The house collapse, which occurred Tuesday afternoon, comes after two other beachfront homes in Rodanthe collapsed within hours of one another Friday.

Tuesday's collapse is the third since Friday. On that day, two other unoccupied homes on Kohler Court fell into the sea.

So many people say hateful things [and] ask why we built our house in the middle of the ocean,” said homeowner Sharon Troy. “It was not like this when we bought it.”
