Jamal Murray scored a career-high 55 points, Nikola Jokic had his 25th triple-double of the season and the Denver Nuggets beat the Portland Trail Blazers 132-121 on Wednesday night for their eighth straight victory.

The short-handed Phoenix Suns didn’t have enough energy or firepower to keep up with the surging Denver Nuggets in Saturday’s 122-105 loss before a sellout crowd of 17,071 at Footprint Center. Jamal Murray and three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic combined for 56 points in leading the Nuggets (34-19) to a sixth straight win.

The Denver Nuggets are a threat in the West because they have the best player on the planet, Nikola Jokic. However, when Jamal Murray is playing at his peak next to Jokic, Denver looks like the team that won a ring just a couple of years ago.
