For months, the Lakers have confused and angered some the NBA's biggest offensive stars with a defensive scheme no one can quite figure out. It'll be tested again Saturday, when they face off against Anthony Edwards and the Timberwolves.

One of the negative narratives that has dogged LeBron James in recent years is that he doesn't play any defense. There has been a fair amount of truth in that narrative, partly because he has had to conserve his energy on that end of the court as a concession to the insane amount of wear and tear he has accumulated over 22 NBA seasons.

With the Los Angeles Lakers making the playoffs outright and clinching the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference, talk has begun to sprout up about the Lakers’ possible championship chances. One reason why the Lakers are being mentioned such talks is because of their defense.
