Just weeks after President-elect Donald Trump chose Houston billionaire Tilman Fertitta to be his ambassador to Italy, the CEO of Landry’s Inc is planning to co-host a black tie reception shortly after the new president is sworn into office on Monday.

During the 2024 election, Fertitta donated more than $1 million to state and federal Republican political action committees. One of Fertitta’s largest contributions was made to the Trump 47 fundraising committee,

On Monday, Trump will be sworn in as the 47th US president, making his vows over his mother’s Bible and another used by Abraham Lincoln in 1861. The ceremony at the US Capitol will feature country music singers Carrie Underwood and Lee Greenwood, who sells a $59.99 Bible endorsed by the president-elect.
