According to multiple reports, the longtime Patriots assistant is headed to the college ranks to become Ohio State’s next defensive coordinator. Bill Belichick’s longtime lieutenant, Patricia won three Super Bowls with the Patriots and was the team’s defensive coordinator from 2012-2017.

Day is hiring Patricia to fill the void left by defensive coordinator Jim Knowles leaving for the same job at Penn State.

Patricia is a three-time Super Bowl -winning coordinator with the New England Patriots. He will return to a college football coaching job for the first time since 2003, when he was a graduate assistant at Syracuse. Patricia was a senior defensive assistant for the Eagles in 2023, his most recent job in the NFL.
