The Mattoon Fire union said the fire department was called to 4112 Lakeland Lvd. at 6:15 for a fire with explosions. A glow could be seen from over a mile away.
The Mattoon Fire Department and several other agencies fought off a pole barn fire with explosions on Tuesday evening, with no injuries reported and the fire considered under control by 8:53 p.m.
