Leonard Glenn Francis learned his fate Tuesday in what should be one of his final appearances in a San Diego courtroom

Eleven years after his arrest, a federal judge sentenced Leonard Glenn "Fat Leonard" Francis to 15 years in prison Tuesday for bribing U.S. Navy officers and fleecing $35 million from the federal government in one of the biggest corruption schemes in Navy history.

Leonard Francis' sentencing follows a controversial trial of five Navy officers, guilty pleas from dozens of other defendants, and Francis' own flight from the country while on house arrest.
