There’s some good and bad news for users of Google Workspace. We’ll take a look at all of the changes. All of the AI features available in Gmail, Sheets, and more are now free. Previously, they cost an additional $20 monthly per user.

The Gemini AI assistant will now be included in Workspace subscriptions, a sign generative AI is fast becoming table stakes in office apps. Meanwhile, Google is bumping up prices for its paid Workspace plans.

There is a catch, though: as it makes this change, Google is increasing the price of all Workspace plans. Jerry Dischler, Google’s president of cloud applications, tells me companies will pay roughly $2 more per month per user for the AI-enabled Workspace than they were paying before.
