Central Virginia's largest theatre company may have to close its doors for good if it does not get an "immediate infusion" of at least $600,000 within the next 11 days.

A different type of drama unfolds at Virginia Rep Theatre in Richmond. It’s in financial trouble and at risk of closing its doors. Leaders say they have less than 2 weeks to make a decision. The theatre has been standing for several decades.

The company's new leadership team said it uncovered a legacy deficit of $1.7 million and a further deficit of $1.6 million projected for the year to come.
