Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on Wednesday ordered military exercises in the country's biggest shantytowns after US forces blew up another boat allegedly carrying drugs from the Caribbean country.

President Trump said six "narcoterrorists" were killed in the latest strike, bringing the number of people killed in such attacks since September to at least 27.

It’s at least the fifth deadly strike in the Caribbean as the Trump administration has asserted that it's treating alleged drug traffickers as unlawful combatants who must be met with military force.

The United States has clashed with Venezuela and its allies at an emergency meeting of the U.N. Security Council over a series of deadly American military strikes in the Caribbean.
