The annual run benefits Caritas of Austin, a local nonprofit helping people experiencing homelessness in the Greater Austin area.

The 34th annual ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot kicked off Thanksgiving morning at the Long Center near downtown Austin. Caritas of Austin president Jo Kathryn Quinn shared how the annual trot is helping people experiencing homelessness in Austin.

The rain-or-shine 5-mile run, which benefits Caritas of Austin, will be held on Thanksgiving starting at 9:30 a.m. at The Long Center for the Performing Arts. In addition to the main event, there will also be a 1-mile walk and a Stepping Stone School Kids K event.

The 34th annual ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot and third annual Circle C Turkey Trot will create road closures Nov. 28.
