The remainder of Sri Lanka A's tour of Pakistan has been indefinitely postponed due to mass protests in Islamabad by supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), a political party led by former Pakistan captain and prime minister Imran Khan.

Pakistan's claims of successfully organising international cricket in the country suffered a big jolt on Tuesday as the Sri Lanka A team decided not to play the remaining two 50-over matches against Pakistan A due to political unrest in the country's federal capital region.

Sri Lanka A’s tour of Pakistan has been cut short due to political unrest in Islamabad. The team will return home before completing their series against Pakistan Shaheens. This blow to Pakistan has come just months before the highly-anticipated ICC Champions Trophy 2025 that is scheduled to be held in the country.

Sri Lanka A will return home midway through their Pakistan tour due to escalating political protests in Islamabad, leading to the postponement of the final two 50-over matches.

Pakistan Shaheens were set to face Sri Lanka A in three one-dayers at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. However, due to the political protests in Islamabad, the last two matches have been postponed indefinitely.
