Sony has just released its latest over-ear headphones. Since it’s been three years since the last model, fans were expecting a lot of changes.

Sony has unveiled the WH-1000XM6, the latest member of its wildly popular 1000X family of active noise-canceling (ANC) wireless headphones, introducing several technical and quality of life improvements that are sure to be welcomed by its users.

The NC/AMB button (noise cancellation and ambient noise mode) also pulls double duty. Press it twice to Quick Access a chosen app (Amazon Music, Spotify, or Endel). You can program a second app to launch with three taps, but you’ll need the Sony Sound Connect app (previously called Headphone Connect) to configure that.
