With Tua Tagovailoa on injured reserve following his third diagnosed concussion in the past two years, the focus for Miami has turned to Skylar Thompson at quarterback heading into Sunday's game in Seattle against the 2-0 Seahawks.

As he does, Miami is handing the keys over to backup Skylar Thompson. In the wake of Tagovailoa's head injury, head coach Mike McDaniel described Thompson as the "next man up."

The Dolphins' backup quarterback is Skylar Thompson, a former 7th-round draft pick from Kansas State who was selected a few spot ahead of 49ers star Brock Purdy. The Dolphins kept Thompson, 27, over veteran Mike White, who is now a member of the Buffalo Bills.
