Google has already started the Android 16 beta for its Pixel devices. One UI 7 is set to bring significant new features and improvements to Samsung’s custom OS. These include a dynamic “Now Bar” widget on the lock screen, a redesigned quick panel, and enhanced home screen elements.

However, Samsung is one of the quickest to roll out major Android updates after the Mountain View tech giant. The trend will continue with the Android 15-based One UI 7 update, as Samsung intends to complete the rollout by the end of the first quarter of 2025.

One UI 7 won't officially be available for the Galaxy S24 series anytime soon. Samsung indicates a fourth One UI 7 beta will come first.

A couple of months later, Samsung pushed its One UI 7 start into December due to bugs in the software. That November notice reportedly dealt with bugs within the code that crippled the beta's start, forcing the OEM to shove it further down the road. Fast-forward to February 2025 and we're still hearing the same thing: software bugs.

While Samsung offers the best software support among Android brands, every Galaxy device obviously will not be upgraded to One UI 7.0 (based on Android 15). Every device gets a certain number of One UI and OS upgrades. Therefore, you must check the software update policy to see if your device is eligible for the next major upgrade.

While I’m sure Samsung has legitimate reasons to delay One UI 7 until it’s ready, I doubt the company is shedding any tears over setbacks. Samsung is smart to hold back One UI 7 during the launch of the Galaxy S25,
