Australia fast bowler Mitchell Starc has withdrawn from the Champions Trophy for personal reasons, leaving the squad without its three frontline quicks for the ODI tournament in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates.

Mitchell Marsh, a key figure in the Australia limited-overs set-up, was ruled out of the upcoming event last month due to a back injury

Four players originally selected are absent meaning there is uncertainty for the ODI World Cup champions as they prepare to head to Pakistan

"We understand and respect Mitch's decision," George Bailey, chair of men's selectors, said of Starc who will also miss the two ODIs in Sri Lanka. "Mitch is deeply respected for his commitment to international cricket and the priority he places on performing for Australia.

In Starc, Cummins and Hazlewood's absence, Australia will depend on Nathan Ellis, Sean Abbott, Ben Dwarshuis, and Spencer Johnson in the Champions Trophy.
