Federica Brignone won the first World Cup giant slalom after taking gold at the world championships, while Mikaela Shiffrin finished 25th in the American's first race in the discipline in nearly 12 weeks.

American Alpine skiing star Mikaela Shiffrin finished 25th in her first World Cup giant slalom race since November, the latest step back in her recovery from an injury that kept her out of competition for two months.

All that talk about a record-breaking 16th medal. And extending her perfect run of six medals in six career slalom races at the world championships.

The legendary American says she's suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after a fall in a giant slalom race on Nov. 30. In the race, Italian Federica Brignone won gold, while USA's Paula Moltzan took bronze for her first individual world championship medal.

Mikaela Shiffrin said she will still race the slalom and team combined at worlds but said she's "not there yet" with giant slalom.
