Microsoft plans to invest an additional 700 million dollars in Poland to improve Polish cybersecurity in cooperation with the country's armed forces, the company's president said on Monday without elaborating.

The company will also collaborate with the Polish National Defence to establish a framework for boosting national cybersecurity.

Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) on Monday announced plans to invest an additional $700 million in Poland to enhance the country's cybersecurity.

Microsoft is expanding its data center footprint in Poland. The company today announces it intends to spend PLN 2.8 billion ($704m) by June, 2026 to expand its hyperscale cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure in Poland.

Microsoft has announced an additional investment of USD 700 million in Poland to enhance the country’s cybersecurity in collaboration with the Polish armed forces. The announcement was made by Microsoft President Brad Smith during a joint press conference with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Monday.

Microsoft will invest PLN 2.8 billion ($700 million) in Poland to expand cloud, AI and cybersecurity infrastructure by June 2026. The investment will enhance existing data centres by introducing Azure services.

Microsoft Vice President and Director Brad Smith has said that the tech giant might invest PLN 2.8 bln (EUR 673.5 mln) in Poland in 2026, adding to the EUR hundreds-of-millions already invested.

Microsoft is set to invest $700 million in enhancing Poland's cybersecurity in partnership with its armed forces. This marks the second phase of their data center project, which began with a $1 billion initiative in 2020 and opened in 2023 to serve business and government needs.
