Turkey took a further step towards becoming a regional gas re-exporter on Wednesday, after state energy company Botas signed a 10-year supply agreement with France's TotalEnergies, its fourth long-term import deal with non state-owned firms this year.

Under the Heads of Agreement (HoA) signed between the two companies, TotalEnergies will supply 1.1 million tonnes per annum of LNG for 10 years starting from 2027, the French player said in a statement on Wednesday. “This agreement allows TotalEnergies to strengthen a long-term presence in the Turkish LNG market,” it added.
