The Reds traded Jonathan India and Joey Wiemer to the Royals in exchange for starting pitcher Brady Singer on Friday night. India won the National League Rookie of the Year Award in 2021 and had become a fan favorite during his four seasons with the club.

The Reds are content with their half of this trade, of course. Both players are under team control for two more seasons. India will almost certainly make a bit less than Singer, who is arbitration eligible once more.

Singer, 28, posted a 3.71 ERA in 32 starts during the 2024 season. It was a resurgent campaign as Singer made strides under Royals pitching coaches Brian Sweeney and Zach Bove. He added two new pitches and remained healthy throughout the year.
