Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has posted an update about his health to social media, after undergoing a sixth abdominal surgery that he says is related to a stabbing he endured on the campaign trail in 2018.

Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro was recovering in an intensive care unit on Monday after a tricky 12-hour surgery due to recurring intestinal issues since he was stabbed while campaigning in 2018.

The conservative leader has been hospitalized since Friday due to a bowel obstruction related to long-term effects of being stabbed in the abdomen in September 2018.
