ISLAMABAD: At least eight supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) were killed and dozens of others injured in Islamabad following what the party said was a sweeping crackdown overnight by security forces to disperse protesters demanding the release of jailed former prime minister and PTI chief Imran Khan.

Multiple calls for protests, and multiple failures, has not only made the leadership crisis within the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf apparent, but has likely damaged the party’s credibility, too

PTI also claimed that eight of its workers have allegedly been killed, though police claimed that six people, including four paramilitary forces, have died in the protest.
