A trip that was supposed to be filled with happiness and celebration quickly took a turn for one Dallas family after they were arrested by immigration authorities.
Some of those aboard the deportation flight were convicted of crimes including murder, rape, human smuggling and drug trafficking, according to a statement.
This month, 122 Chinese nationals identified as high risk and all living in the U.S. illegally were deported to China, put on a flight out of Dallas, ICE announced.
One person is in police custody after a rally at the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge in Dallas Monday night. Several North Texas-based immigration advocacy groups hosted what they said was a peaceful rally at the bridge after days of ongoing immigration raids and counterprotests in Los Angeles .
The group included 96 men and 26 women, from across the U.S., many with criminal convictions and final orders of removal, ICE Dallas said.
