At a conference for historically Black colleges and universities in Philadelphia, the president tallied up his administration’s contributions to “H.B.C.U. excellence.”

The president announced his administration is investing more than $1 billion in HBCUs, bringing its total contributions to the schools to more than $17 billion.

President Joe Biden gave an address Monday at the 2024 Annual National HBCU Week Conference in Philadelphia. The event for historically Black colleges and universities is being held from Sunday through Thursday and is being hosted by the White House Initiative on Advancing Educational Equity,
