The acquisition of Foot Locker (NYSE:FL) by Dick's Sporting Goods (NYSE:DKS) is still the talk of the athletic apparel sector. Bank of America Robert Ohmes highlighted that the acquisition expands the footwear market share opportunity for Dick's Sporting Goods (NYSE:DKS) to about $300 billion across the global sports retail industry.

Dick's Sporting Goods, Inc. announced Thursday it will acquire Foot Locker, Inc. for $2.4 billion. Foot Locker's portfolio of brands includes Foot Locker, Kids Foot Locker, Champs Sports, WSS, and atmos.

Dick’s, the retail leader in sporting goods, will acquire Foot Locker, the leading specialty footwear retailer, for $2.4 billion. Both depend heavily on sneaker sales.
