Nov. 22, 5 p.m. A flash flood alert in San Francisco has been downgraded to a flood warning as the intense downpour from a California atmospheric river slows down in the city but continues to pummel other parts of the Bay Area. San Francisco’s flood warning is in effect until 6:45 p.m., the National Weather Service said in a social media post.

A third day of an atmospheric river storm has inundated Northern California and the Bay Area, flooding creeks, roads, and low-lying areas across the region.

Rivers in California are spilling over their banks as the state is battered by an atmospheric river, a continuation of a storm that arrived as a bomb cyclone.
