A group of passengers on board an American Airlines flight restrained and tied up a passenger with duct tape after he allegedly tried to open an aircraft door mid-flight.

"It was kind of a fight or flight situation, and everyone just really helped and put together effort," said one passenger.

An unruly man on an American Airlines flight from Milwaukee to Dallas was restrained by passengers using duct tape after allegedly attempting to open the cabin door.

A flight attendant told DFW Airport officers the man got up during the flight and said he needed to get off the plane, according to a police report.

The department responded to a report of a "disruptive passenger on board" and took one person into custody. According to reporting from FOX 4 Dallas, a flight attendant told police that the man got up in the middle of the flight and told her he “needed to exit the plane immediately.

Fellow passengers pinned the man down and used duct tape from an onboard flight kit to tie up his wrists and ankles to restrain him.
