Remains of a human foot found inside a hiking shoe on the shores of a lake in Utah belong to a man who went missing in 1997, according to officials.

David White, of Washington, Utah, went missing in September 1997 after fishing alone at Fish Lake. His remains were found by a hiker and his dog in May.

Human remains connected to a man who mysteriously disappeared in 1997 were recovered near Fish Lake in Utah, local authorities revealed. According to an Aug. 5 news release from the Sevier County Sheriff's Office, a foot was discovered inside a hiking boot along the shore of the lake in May.
