When Donald Trump announced he would meet Vladimir Putin in Budapest for another summit on Ukraine, Viktor Orbán hailed Hungary as “the only place in Europe” where such a meeting could take place.

Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin is likely to face significant challenges in reaching the Hungarian capital, Budapest, where talks with US President Donald Trump may take place, due to the risks associated with crossing European airspace.

Budapest "will respectfully await” Putin’s visit and provide all conditions for his meeting with Trump, he said. "We will ensure his ability to enter Hungary, hold successful talks here, and then return home.

Hungary’s Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó confirms Budapest will host the Trump–Putin peace summit. As Russia and the U.S. prepare talks to end the Ukraine conflict, Hungary promises safe conditions for both leaders.
