There were scenes of chaos in east Manchester on Tuesday night (November 5) as police were pelted with fireworks by a huge group of youths in the street. A large mob of between 20 to 30 teenagers are understood to have built a 'barricade' on Vine Street, in Gorton, with wooden pallets and mattresses.

Edinburgh police have come under fire once more as youths hurl fireworks at cars in the Niddrie area. Officers have closed Niddrie Main Road and asked the public to avoid the area. This follows disorder over the previous two years.

Several police riot vans and public order officers have been seen on Niddrie Mains Road and Hay Drive - two areas which have seen violent disorder erupt in recent years.
