Back to the Future the Musical's extraordinary visual effects mean you'll see the DeLorean fly
For the uninitiated (if you're out there), Back to the Future follows teenager Marty McFly as he's transported in a time-travelling DeLorean from 1985 to 1955, where he needs to make sure his high school-aged parents fall in love or risk wiping out his very existence. The three films grossed the equivalent of $3 billion.
In 2022, Lego revisited the DeLorean on a much grander scale for the Lego Icons line, which still remains available for purchase. With 1,872 pieces, it was much more lavish and larger than minifigure scale and could even be tweaked to make versions of the car from the sequel movies, but with all that scope came a hefty $200 price tag.
It might be hard to believe, but Back to the Future celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. To kick off the festivities, Lego has unveiled a new DeLorean time machine set as part of the Lego Speed Champions line. Priced at $28, it's now available to preorder ahead of its release on January 1, 2026.
The limited-edition CA-500WEBF pays tribute to the iconic film with subtle nods to the DeLorean’s time circuits and flux capacitor.
