It depends on what you like to do. We just got back two days ago. This time we backpacked into Coyote Gulch. It's absolutely stunning (my fourth time going). There's some great closer day hikes: Spooky and Peek-a-Boo slot canyons, lower calf creek falls. Thus is a country full of slot canyons and natural bridges and arches. Google them and see if it interests you. I will say it's super hot (105 degrees by 11 am), so you'll have to be on the trail by 6am with plenty of water. We ran into two groups who ran out of water and were in pretty bad shape. This area is one of my favorites in Utah but extremely different from Zion and far less crowded.
Q:
How long would it take to hike?
A:
We didnt go to the upper trail, had somebody with asthma with us,that wasnt used to the weather there.Although that little lake looked very inviting.
