WEBJul 29, 2022 · That isn’t quite right, Elder Futhark is phonetic. Each rune exclusively makes 1 sound. So the ᛁ rune is called Isa and it makes a long E sound, for a long I sound you’d need Ay or ᚨᛃ so all together it would be ᚨᛃ ᛁᛏ ᚨᛊ, Note no double Sowilo because you use the fewest number of runes for it to sound correct phonetically.
